Our Story
Hills started from a simple local reality: in Rwanda, buying something often meant going shop to shop without knowing where the product was available.
The Starting Point
The founding insight came from direct experience at home in Rwanda. A simple purchase could take hours because there was no easy way to know which shop had the product, at what location, and in what condition.
That is not an isolated case. Across many African communities, people go to markets with uncertainty and rely on luck, word of mouth, or repeated movement between stores.
Market Reality
1People often move from shop to shop without knowing if a product is actually available.
2Many trusted local businesses are active offline but invisible online.
3Customers lose time and transport costs searching by trial and error.
4Merchants lose demand simply because they are hard to find digitally.
Where We Are Now
Hills is an active and growing platform focused on making local businesses visible and reachable today, while building toward a larger local commerce infrastructure over time.
The long-term direction includes stronger data foundations, logistics intelligence, and demand visibility that can support businesses, communities, institutions, and ecosystem partners.
